OPTOKLASTER and INNET Round Table

The 5th annual Paris Region Innovation Tour (PRIT2009 www.prit2009.eu), summarising the French clusters activity, gathered over 800 participants including more then 140 representatives of foreign clusters, private enterprises, research laboratories and public institutions. The meeting of the clusters was held on 30th November 2009 and contained a special panel dedicated to the completion of INNET project. As one of the four Polish clusters we participated together with the French partner OPTICSVALLEY in ?Innovation Express?, a pilot programme of INNET. We were the only one Polish cluster, which together with seven other international clusters, were invited to INNET Round Table in order to discuss organisational and financial forms of supporting the clusters. During the plenary session the representatives of EC Nikos Pantalos (in charge of the European Cluster Policy) along with Jean-David MALO (Head of Unit for Regions of Knowledge and Research Potential EC Designated Service Manager for the Risk-Sharing Finance Facility) and other representatives of French governmental organisations indicated for the clusters as the main channels to support and finance the innovation policy. Zbigniew Patron, the Head of Steering Committee, represented OPTOKLASTER.

105th seminar on "Light and Optics in Medical Diagnosis"

On 18-21 October 2009 in the International Center of Cybernetics in Warsaw was held 105th seminar on "Light and Optics in Medical Diagnosis" (http://ibib.waw.pl/mcb/seminars/ICB_105/index.htm). During the seminar the meeting participants had the opportunity to familiarize with the companies’ associated in Optoklaster offers.

Paris 04 - 06.10.2009

On 04 - 06.10.2009 Optoklaster members returned a visit at our French partner - OpticsValley cluster. Polish members had the opportunity to introduce the business of their companies in the form of plenary speeches and see French partners’ offers. After the session extra time was provided for the individual bilateral talks, during which interested in a specific offer entities could clarify their expectations and provide a range of possible cooperation. That same day, meeting participants visited the Institute of Optics Graduate School and then synchrotron Soleil. On the last day the company Brain Vision System presented its capabilities in the field of image analysis using image recognition algorithms used by the human brain. Participants took part in the trip visiting the fair "The European exhibition dedicated to optical solutions," which at that time was held in Paris. During the fair, the cluster members once again met with representatives of companies associated in OpticsValley, this time by reading closer to their already implemented projects, which appeared more fully the potential applications in the field of optics in the industry.

Poznan 16 - 19 June 2009

From 16 - 19 June 2009, OPTOKLASTER the first time participated in the Exhibition Science for the Economy, which took place as part of the Innovations - Technologies - Machines at Poznan International Fair. You could find us in Hall 5 at stand number 112. At the fair a comprehensive offer from Optoklaster members was presented, it consisted of leaflets and posters from companies affiliated in the cluster. At the stand there were also available handouts from our cluster partner Opticsvalley. It is worth mentioning that the interest in Optoklaster and entities making it exceeded our expectations. Participation in the ITM has opened another door to the development of the cluster and allowed to establish contacts with representatives of the optoelectronic industry, both in the country and abroad. Information about Optoklaster was placed in the fair catalog. In addition, The Fair Gazette published an article promoting Optoklaster.
